Carl Kishbaugh2012/10/15I serve as the Global Pastoral Care Coordinator for a missionary ozginirataon. Concerning social media, I am assuming you are thinking about FaceBook, Twitter and others. About the only application I would think of might be to post resources or to alert our folks to links/videos. We do not use social media platforms for any personal work with our staff, because of the nature of those conversations and confidentiality.Carl

Daughter 12 pierced ears Joy 10/6/2013
I am an Adventist mom. My 12 year old daughter wants to wear earrings. He 22 year old sister just got her ears pierced. It seems almost a non-issue in my Adventist church, 1/2 of the women wear earrings. For you older teen girls, do you wear earrings? Did you parents agree when you first asked? Did they place restrictions about not wearing them in Adventist settings?

Hi Joy, I am 16 and an academy student. When I got my ears pierced the agreement I made with my parents was not to wear earrings to school. I have honored that, once in a while I have forgot and left them in - the teachers just ask me to remove them.

I've never done these challenges and never even thhougt of it before. But I think it will be a great exercise for me to learn how to live within my means and stick to my budget by getting rid of unnecessary purchases. It will make me think twice about what I need, what I want, my budget, and my overall financial goal.Thank you.

Wearing Jewerly pt 2 Ayina 10/8/2011
Okay so the day after I made my last post was my younger sister's bday. We went to the mall and i bought her this pretty ring she wanted. We go home and she talks to my dad and shows him the ring all of a sudden he gives her the cold shoulder and she doesn't understand why. Then he says "I have disobedient children." Then my dad ask who bought the ring and I said I did and he's like you broke our bargain. So I respond what bargain? He says you were supposed to just take your sister horseback riding. First of all we never had a bargain and second why would you give your daughter the cold should and not EXPLAIN to her why you are upset. It was stupid and it made me angry and I told him that the ring was just like his ties. He says its not the same. Thoughts? Might just have to find another denomination I guess...

There might be lots of things which seem to be harmless and jewellery is on of them. As christians we are to preach the gospel to the world and in todays time the best way to present Christto the people is ...what soever you do do it for the Glory of God. Many times what we may become a stumblig block to someone. Wish your dad explained it to you rather than getting upset about it.

I need advice. Dittledeedoda 7/9/2010
hi, i'm a teenager who is having trouble with her parent. my parent used to not go to church many years ago (over a decade ago), and my parent was a really nice loving person. but since my parent started coming to church he (or she) thinks he (or she) is better than everyone and that me and my whole family, besides (his or her self,i don't want to tell you which), are evil sinners. my parent doesn't understand how much i prayed (he or she) would love jesus and learn more about him, and now that (he or she) goes to church (he or she) is very unloving. i find myself hating my parent and wanting to escape, one of my siblings has allready left because of (he or she). i don't want to leave my younger siblings and my other parent but i don't know what to do, god isn't answering my prayers, and i'm scared to ask after he answered the one about my parent the way he did. on top of all this i'm homeschooled and have no friends, and i can't really vent this

You are the answer. Go to your parent and show them they are wrong. Tell them of the parable about the Pharisee and the Tax collector. And remind your parent that one really really big trait of a true Christian and a true follower of Jesus is humility. And what she is doing is the complete opposite of Humility. NB : The teaching is in Luke 18:9-14.
