Parents (June 23)

How does a Christ-follower deal with parents—or other relatives—who don’t know the good news, or who know it and choose not to accept it?

I agree. Are you sure, though, that Jesus never asked crowds to follow Him? It seems to me that He must have used words at some point to invite some people to follow Him. But yes, His example was a BIG-TIME influence on the people. Great thoughts, guys!

I think the best way to deal with a relative who doesn't want to except Christ is to lead by example. If we strive to be Christ-like in everything that we do, and if we let Christ live in our hearts and in our life's, they WILL see Christ in us, and as a result be drawn to God. We don't have to always spread the gospel with our mouths; a lot of times spreading Christ's message with our actions says a lot more. It's one thing to TELL someone about God and Christ's righteousness; but if they see us living what we teach, it will send a much deeper message.
