Why?

Posted by Always Falling for the Wrong Guy on May 9 2012 3:33PM

Why is it that I am attracted to older men? I was sort of in a relationship with a guy five years older than me (it didn't work out), and now I like this guy who is nearly twice my age! I know nothing will ever come of it, but why do I feel like this? Am I the only one?

No, you are not the only one. I myself have a crush on a famous tennis player 27 years old and I am 15! This is normal, and there is nothing wrong with it. We have to be careful however not to allow our thoughts to become impure when thinking about this certain person, and not to 'fantasize' about inappropriate things.

Research has claimed that women like older men because they are simply more mature. But you first need to ask yourself why you are attracted to older men. Is it because there isnít a guy your age you are not interested in? What is it that older guys have that guys your age lack? Or, more bluntly, is there something you lack that you are trying to find in a Ďmatureí man? Ironically, I am in the same situation you were in with a man five years older and can relate. Make sure you ask God for His guidance and will in what you are deciding. Itís very easy to get swayed by a presence of a significant other and neglect God. You also need to weigh the pros and cons of being in a relationship with a man significantly older than you, which I am pretty sure you are aware of, and if not, write them down. You have already admitted that being with this man twice your age wonít last. Based on that, I would suggest waiting for a guy who is a man of God and closer to your age. They are out there!
