I have a type of arthritis that makes my back stiff. It has also eaten away at the cartilage in my hip, which is my main problem with it. It can be pretty painful. I'm taking aleve every day, and have taken it for over 4 years. Recently, I found out that I should not run, jump, play sports, or do other high impact activity. At times, this can be very discouraging, because I used to love doing these things, and because my everyday mobility is sometimes made difficult or painful. So, here are my questions. Am I supposed to embrace this as a thorn in my flesh so God can make me strong through my weakness? I really don't see how being half lame and not being able to play sports fits in with a better plan that God has for me. At times, I feel as if God is wanting to hurt me, or is letting me be hurt. I don't see the purpose for it at all, and don't see how it can really have a purpose, or be the best thing for me. Also, I have heard that we should trust God a lot, and pretty

| Racism in the church | Rebekah | 4/28/2006 | |
| Earlier in the year, my family and I were looking for a new church. We visited a (SDA) church that was made up predominately of another ethnic group. Although the first time we came, the greeters at least went through the motions of welcoming us, the 2nd time we came, and when we ventured to go to a church social event(we had friends in the church.) it was terrible. Like, 'how dare THEY show up at OUR church?' attitude. We weren't even acknowledged. It was terrible how we were treated just because of our race. I was very disappointed and surprised that things like this still happen in our church.I wonder... have any of you experienced something like this? What are your feelings on the issue? |

If the church is against racism why do we still have black churches and white churches and why is is that somepeople find it repugnant when two people of different color decide to date if we are supposed to be one blood in the body of Christ? |

I think there is nothing wrong with rock music if you know what to watch out for. I listen to Rock myself. Some of the Rock and Hard core sreamo stuff, i think is orriginated from the devil. I'm trying to help one of my friends to see that. It's not going to well. Just watch out, the devil isn't stupid. He knows our deepest secrets and desires and he'll stop at nothing to trip us up. |

| Hey there, iam so glad to write to you. Something is bothering me, Iam an 18 year old who like reading too much. I guess you could say that reading novels is my weakness. I can't stop and i know iam going to far, might this be the Devils plan to try and cloud my mind with fantasy stories or iam I just overreacting? I don't see anythigng wrong with it, but somebody told me that novels are for the Devil. I disagree. Please help me read my way through! |

Reading is wonderful. Read educational material. Find a Christian bookstore. If you find yourself dwelling on thoughts that you shouldn't be dwelling on, read something different. An entire genre is not from the devil. However, many books lead people to believe things that they shouldn't. |
