unringing bells |

August 17, 2005 Its impossible to really appreciate anything without first having had it. ALL of our best thoughts can not replace just ONE experience. Much talk is given to how much we thank or should thank, Jesus for forgiving us of our sins. Yet like anything else that's "FREE" , we generally abuse it. Its a proven fact that a product or service is less valued when given away, as compared to being purchased. How does this relate to bells? Once rung, its alarm CANNOT be undone! The most innocent and honest of intentions will not cause the sound waves and the meanings they carry to cease, stop or reverse in their flow. All you can do at that point is seek forgiveness and we have the promise of receiving it; however the sound waves still traveled and carried a message. Some messages you send can cause harm directly and/or indirectly but you were forgiven some messages broke hearts but you were forgiven some messages broke homes but you were forgiven some messages ruined reputations but you were forgiven some messages brought time in jail but you were forgiven some messages ended friendships and destroyed marriages but you were forgiven Though we receive forgiveness for many wrongs, the results of those same wrongs, are echoed many times over, long after the bell stops ringing. There are some mistakes, that we never stop paying for. So please be thoughtful of what you say and take compassion in that you do, because what's free to you, COST OTHERS and sometimes even YOU, far more than can possibly be imagined! |

If only people could live by those few beautiful paragraphs that you have put together, the world would be a better place.
